Hello!
My first post in 2016 will be on thai cuisine :)
The fella wanted to bring and my family to Thai Sawadee quite some time ago. He frequents this place whenever he dines with his close buddy and finds the food quite appetising and enticing.
So finally on New Year's day we decided to travel from KL all the way to Klang just for a wee "adventure". Located in the busy commercial shoplots "square" of Taman Botanic, Thai Sawadee thrives well amidst all the competitors serving different cuisines (chinese cuisine are abundant).
So as always, I only managed to take the interior of the place (always too hungry upon reaching so charged into restaurant and forgetting to snap a photo of the entrance):

Very colourful and very Thai interior.
Notice the huge portrait of a supposed Thai young lady. |
So we gestured for the waiter to come and take our orders. The young guy conversed with us in English , which was something I found strange because I assumed Klang people would automatically speak Mandarin to us. Moving on, these are the dishes we ordered:
 |
Stir fried baby Kai Lan
(portion was very small so we ordered another vege in the end) |
 |
Tom Yum Goong
(Seafood Tom yum: very fragrant and super spicy for me,
with a hint of lemongrass, tomatoes, onions, etc.
I guess this is what they call "authentic" because it is spicy enough hehehe) |
 |
Prawn Omelette
(Portion was acceptably sufficient, but could have been better in terms of the crisp of the egg.
Nonetheless, generous unmber of prawns served) |
 |
Lime Steam Siakap Nice and tasty :D |
 |
Pandan Leaf Chicken
(Small portion but the meat is boneless so I guess it is good enough.
The chicken meat was a bit mushy, wonder why.
Quite flavourful but nothing to shout about, really) |
 |
Stir fried Mix Vege
(The extra vege dish we ordered because we were lacking vege hehehe.
Just your regular stir fry vege, I would say) |
We had these dishes with fragrant white rice. There were five of us, one bowl of rice each but we added two more bowls towards the end (don't ask who had the two bowls.. ha ha!). We also had a young coconut water (rm6.50+/ small coconut).
Overall, pretty pricey and portion is small. Not bad if you stay around the area and you are craving thai, but IMHO if you're travelling all the way from KL/PJ you may want to reconsider.
