Homecooked Lemon and Herbs Roast Chicken!

Finally had time and in the mood to make a "simple-looking" but tedious lunch at home..

Bought the ingredients from Aeon Mid Valley the day before..

Marinated the chicken portions with lemon,
mixed herbs, salt, and black pepper
Washed and cut the vegetables for the pasta. Just love the
colour combination here!

Look at the bottom left of this pic.
That is the olive oil mix made of olive oil (duh),
black pepper, mixed herbs, salt, sugar, and a tinge of apple cider!
Mixed by me! Toss toss toss!

Well tossed and mixed!

Here is a video of how I prepared my Pasta Salad..

Lunch is served!

A close-up photo of our customised lunch!
Bought Nando's peri-peri garlic sauce to go with the lemon herb chicken!
I used 2 whole lemons and thought the sourness will be
overwhelming but to my surprise the taste was just nice!

Sangkaya, Damansara Uptown

One blazing hot sunny Saturday, we decided to make a detour before driving back home. We were determined to try something cold from the famous Sangkaya. Initially this Sangkaya ice cream parlour was set up as a small stall at Jaya One, but now it has moved to Damansara Uptown.

The signage is quite obscure but nevertheless
people still flock to the place like bees

So there came a queue after I ordered the Sangkaya infamous coconut shake. Actually the ice cream in the coconut shell is their popular number here lah, but I did not get it this time round since we wanted to DRINK something instead of having ice cream.

See the queue to the left of this photo

Funny quotes on COCONUTS *sweat
So this was the really good and chilly COCONUT SHAKE! Tasty! They had blended ice cream in coconut water and ice, and one more scoop of coconut ice cream to top it off! Simply heavenly especially on a sunny perspiring day!

Sangkaya coconut shake RM9+

Little Fat Duck Food Truck, Jaya One

Good evening good evening!

Just before the weekend ends, here is another foodie update for you. Another "baling belakang" post (throwback post) for you..

We were at Jaya One and had our lunch at (can't remember where aiyah.. this is a throwback lah cannot remember where we had lunch). After lunch we went strolling in Jaya One and The School. For those who have not been here at Jaya One, The School is the newer building connected to Jaya One (Or is it in Jaya One itself? Oh well). While having our walkabout after lunch, we were pleasantly surprised when we spotted the Little Fat Duck (LFD) food truck parked comfortably at the pavement! Prior to this we tried the spaghetti from LFD at S's wedding at church and we thought it was not bad, so we thought we'd "tapao" (cantonese term for takeaway) sme for teatime later. Here is how the truck looks like:

Parked neatly at Jaya One

This is the box! Fancy huh?

Tadaa!! Teatime is great with this.
You probably need to reheat it. RM9.
So, the verdict is.. yeah, it tastes good!!! With a warm cup of milo or tea or coffee (if you love coffee lah, I cannot tolerate coffee coz it induces palpitation), savouring this mushroom sausage spaghetti was a pleasure!!

Worth a try ya!

Here is the website:

and yes, they do catering too like how they catered for S's wedding in church but I have no idea how the price is like for such service.

Oh, But.. forgot to mention, they won't always be in Jaya One. This is their occasional food truck, they probably run by schedule (not too sure). However, they actually have cafe's at tropicana city mall, 1utama shopping mall and ss15 market area so if you really want to try you can go to these places!

Khun Thai, Jalan Gasing, PJ

Dear readers,

I know many of you have been to Khun Thai but this is my first time there! Nevertheless, will write about my personal experience here and what my taste buds feedback to me after having dinner here :P

They actually designed the roof to simulate
achitecture in Thai (me thinks)

I think the design looks exotic albeit a bit too dark for my liking
(never know whether it is a mozzie breeding ground so bring
your repellants is possible)

We were here on a random saturday night, in search of a simple yet appetising and quick dinner. Since it was only two of us, we decided to order 3 dishes to be shared and two small young sweet coconut. Here are the photos.
Ordered these three dishes!
These dishes came to us in less than 15 minutes! Sounds like fastfood eh? So we had the shrimp omelette, Thai green curry chicken, and a small plate of kerabu pakis.

Close up of the kerabu pakis (RM10)

This is the thai green curry chicken.
Was a little bit too spicy for my liking but flavourful
enough to keep you eating till the end! (RM18)

S
The shrimp omelette was fried so well that the "sides" of the egg were crunchy
but the middle part of the omelette is soft and nice!
The shrimps were fresh and have that
 juicy elastic bite! (RM11)

The fragrant white rice was served for us to go with the dishes rm 2.80 / pax and it was refillable.

So apart from the mains, we ordered coconut water. Initially I wanted to order just one coconut but in the end, it was too small to be shared by two persons so we went on ordering an extra one.

Very very sweet and fresh thai coconut!
Thirst quenching, yes! (RM5.50 each)

Our bill came up to RM55.95 for the two of us
and we had extra green curry to pack back
coz we couldnt stomach everything on the spot.
All in all, it was a very nice experience. The service was good, maybe we were early, was there around 6.15pm. Khun Thai Jalan Gasing is not one of the high end fine-dining thai restaurant. Instead, it is more for a quick and simple but yet flavourful meal for the family.

P.S. If you are into spicy, please order the tomyum kong (tomyum soup).  I personally cannot tolerte spicy but I saw this tom yum soup pot on each table.
